# Preview a US TikTok account order from abroad

For an app, SaaS team or agency outside the United States, the first decision is the market you want to serve. The account's target country and your team's location are different fields. This guide evaluates one US TikTok account without buying video slots or adding warming options. TokPortal handles an ordered account's lifecycle; a US target does not guarantee views, reach or immunity from platform restrictions.

## 1. Read available markets and current costs

Use an existing authorized API key from the [Developer Portal](https://app.tokportal.com/developer/api-keys?utm_source=developers_tokportal\&utm_medium=docs\&utm_campaign=growth_us_launch_202609\&utm_content=us_preview_key), stored locally as `TOKPORTAL_API_KEY`. The reads require read access. The simulated creation also requires write access or full access; `test` is an environment label, not sandbox enforcement.

Proceed only if the new-account list `data` contains `USA`. That is the canonical country code; `US` is an accepted alias. `videos_only_countries` lists markets for existing-account video orders and does not establish new-account availability. If USA is unavailable, stop instead of substituting another market. Availability is checked again by the API during the preview.

Review the effective pricing and recurring-account terms in `GET /credit-costs`. Do not hardcode an account price from an old example: the simulation returns the amount for your workspace and request.

## 2. Simulate one account-only order

The fixed `X-TokPortal-Dry-Run: true` header makes this a [simulation](https://developers.tokportal.com/sandbox). Check the response before continuing:

- Response header `X-TokPortal-Dry-Run: true`.
- Success body `dry_run: true`, `credits_charged: 0` and the numeric `credits_would_charge` quote.
- `data.bundle_id` beginning with `00000000-0000-4000-8000-`. This ID is synthetic; no account order exists.

On an error, the response header is the simulation marker; the body can contain only the normal error. Stop on `401`, `403`, unavailable country or validation errors. Do not remove the header or retry as a live call. This preview does not create an order, debit credits, assign a manager or start publication.

## 3. Decide whether to place a separate order

Record the target market, requested account type and quoted credits. The quote describes the current request; it is not a price reservation, a delivered account, or proof that a later request will succeed unchanged.
